Scan Barcodes With Infrared Reading Mobile Phone

  1. This is a nice fantasy. IR ports on cell phones cannot read barcodes. Not only has this not been perfected, it does not work at all.

  2. It's not clear what this means.

Does it mean simply that an imager with an infrared filter can scan a bar code's infrared light signature? Does it mean that the bar code is printed in infrared ink?

Even if it meant that infrared ports could be used -- almost certainly a false assertion -- who cares, given that infrared ports are going out of style anyway?
