While 802.11n is very fast and will take over a lot of where wired ethernet still exists it will not replace wired ethernet.
802.11n offers a theoretical max of 248 Mbps over a shared medium. In contrast you can easily acquire 1000 Mbps (Gigabit) ethernet hardware at the consumer level!
Wired ethernet also wins out for security. Your data stays on the wires -- you don't have to worry about people in your parking lot sniffing your data out of the air. Yes, there is encryption available which can help.
Although not in the consumer level there is also 10 Gigabit and even 100 Gigabit ethernet available.

Wireless has its place as does wired networking.
