Program Your TiVo Using Your Cellphone

This is another trend that I think will play a big role going forward. DRM, or device relationship management is the ability to access and control machinery from a remote location using the Internet. In this case it's using your cell phone to program your TiVo.

From USA Today TiVo to expand program recording to cellphone

TiVo subscribers will soon be able to program television recordings straight from cellphones using the Verizon Wireless network.

An agreement with Verizon Wireless, announced Tuesday, expands on TiVo's strategy to bring the digital video recording pioneer's capabilities beyond its set-top-boxes and the television, and directly to cellphones for the first time.

Dubbed TiVo Mobile, it's also the latest feature the Alviso, Calif.-based company is introducing to help differentiate itself from the growing number of rival DVR offerings from cable and satellite TV operators.
