Nextcode And Network World Mobile BarCode Follow-Up

BtoBOnline has a nice summary of the Nextcode and Network World mobile barcode partnership announced this morning.

It is likely the first time a business publication in the U.S. has offered its readers the option of getting to the information they seek on a Web site via the mobile Internet without keying in or clicking.

Dan Gallagher, VP-audience and architecture at NetworkWorld.com said "Through cell phone scanning, we can now offer the same extended brand experience in our print magazine. That is very exciting."

NeoMedia had a 2D smartcode run for 3 months in the Gulfshore Business Magazine.

The Gulfshore Business Magazine is just a step above the PennySaver, providing news to the Ft Myers FL community. I wouldn't call their subscriber base full of "early adopters".

Network World is a division of IDG, the world's leading technology media, research and event company.

Which publication do you think will have a bigger impact on Physical World Connection adoption?

Actually, neither of the above. When the NY Times or LA Times or WSJ feature it daily...then you're talking PWC exposure and potential adoption IMO.

By the time it makes the major newspapers, it's already considered adopted.

When was the last time NY Times or WSJ broke the story about emerging technology?

There's a company with a really great idea, still in beta, that will allow PWC to get adopted very quickly.
