The physical world connection industry made it to Brian Wilson's show on Fox News. Scanbuy and their CEO Olivier Attia were featured about the next big thing.
In essence
Scanbuy has perfected a technology whereby consumers can download software to their cell phones that will allow them to scan the bar code on any item and search all databases for the lowest price.

I don't understand how ScanBuy can get away with the claim that this is their technology, when they are being sued by the owners of the IP for this technology. Something is fishy in mobile world.
Because being sued by a company trying to bully everyone with patent lawsuits doesn't mean they're "getting away with" anything. The patent they're being sued over is quite simply ridiculous and prior art can be found in EVERY SINGLE INSTANCE of networked barcode usage in the past (every handheld scanner, every price check at Toys R Us, etc)
There is some prior art in closed network scanning, like we see every day in the grocery store and inventory tracking devices, but not using codes to link physical items to the internet. You are not fooling anyone. I'll bet you work for or have some kind of stake in ScanBuy. Pretty funny. You won't beat them, so you might as well join them.
Hi!
I'm the woman who posted the article you link to in this post. However, the original post has been DELETED because it contained inaccurate information.
I see TV covering stories like ScanBuy and it reinforces my belief in TV journalism. They never do their homework when covering a story. They are too busy to get a story out, than they are to make sure they have ALL of the components to it.
