RealEyes3D Gets Financing

One of the physical world connection companies that involves the camera phone gets financing .

Connecting the physical world to the digital world is getting closer, and the mobile marketing applications are ready to start.



Realeyes3D, the pioneer of handwritten messaging and provider of embedded applications and wireless services for camera phones, announced today that it has secured €7.5 million (USD 9.3 million) in venture capital in an over-subscribed second round of financing led by Atlas Venture and Partech International.

Realeyes3D enables camera phone vendors and mobile operators to extend the value of connected, mobile image capture beyond photography, for both consumers and professional users,”

In February, the company announced the signing of a global licensing agreement with Samsung for the integration of a number of Realeyes3D applications as standard features in its camera phones

Honestly....I don't 'see' these guys gaining much traction. Why? Their 'stuff' reminds me of the many viewing/label options on my video camera and my still camera...none of which (options) I've ever used. Maybe the younger crowd will like them though...

Hey, how often did you share your videos? This is about messaging. Sending messages to loved ones. With your own handwriting. Receiving creative handwritten messages from your significant other... or sending a map to a meeting place, drafted on a paper napkin. I am convinced. Check out Verizon's A850, or Sprint's A840. I think these guys figured it out just right. My 2 cts...
