A Threat To Vonage And Skype?

Make free local and long distance calls to any phone in the US or Canada free from AdCalls

This reminds me of a company called NetSpeak that tried to do the same thing before broadband was common.

But I wonder, will this shake up the VOIP market? Who does it hurt and who benefits? Local advertising?

It also allows you to view discount coupons to businesses that operate inside your local area. And, soon, will also deliver thousands of free movies right to your desktop!

Using the AdCalls dialer and an Internet connection you can make calls to anywhere within the continental United States or Canada without charge. The dialer is easy to use and can be downloaded and installed in seconds.

Use a standard microphone and speakers or a headset and you'll be on your way to convenient, clear conversations without getting charged for the call.

How do they do it?

Advertisers pay for the service. The model is exactly how television has been free for all of these years. The screen of the dialer rotates ads while the dialer is displayed. All ads are from businesses inside your local area so you can take advantage of their offers, if you so choose.

Hmmm. Take a free Internet application that people will use everyday and offer advertisers the ability to advertise on/with it. Sounds like a win-win to me.

Now what is the other company that is talked about everyday that does the same thing... ryhmes with boogle.

I see some disruption here. Not only for the VOIP players, but for advertising as well.

I think AdCalls just needs some exposure to fly.

I am finding numerous companies offering free VOIP.

This space will be interesting to watch. How money will be made I don't know.

I was searching for a service like this, but found this too. I think I'd think twice about using it if this is true.

Engadget speculates that the AdCalls service, which purports to let you place free VoIP telephone calls from your PC in exchange for watching advertisement scroll up your screen, will probably not score you any points with your friends. This is because AdCalls end-user license agreement forces you to give permission for them to market their service to everybody you call. Not cool.

I spoke to them..They assured me that they wouldn't solicit beyond an email.

Nothing in life is free.

I spoke to them too. They also assured me that they will not contact anybody that I call. They will only solicit people by email if you subscribed to be a Advertiser or Private Label User. They will not solicit you if you are a Free Phone User.

It is a strictly enforced 100% permission based e-mail system that only the advertisers can contact you. I have it and it works great. I downloaded it from a friend at www.adcallsforbusiness.com
It's a great way for local busiensses to succeed and get their name out ot more people - viral marketing I think he called it.

The traditional telephone companies are going to be shitting in there pants in the next couple of years, telephone companies all over the world for that matter. Adcalls found a way to offer FREE national calls and FREE pc to pc international calls, period, end of story...

How does AdCalls differ from the other VOIP players?

Every time I read about AdCalls, I hear the same thing "they can use the numbers you call for solicitation".

How do they get around this stigma?

OK HERE'S THE DEAL ON ADCALLS AND PERMISSION BASED MARKETING... WHEN YOU PALCE A CALL THRU ADCALLS THE INFORMATION IS NOT RENTED, SOLD, SHARED WHATEVER. THEY TRACK THE TIME NOT THE NUMBER! IF YOU ARE ON A DIALER AND CLICK A COUPON FOR PIZZA, NOT ONLY DO YOU GET TO PRINT AND REDEEM THAT COUPON BUT THE PIZZA PARLOR'S AD THAT YOU CLICKED ON GET'S TO SEND YOU A THANK YOU EMAIL--YOU CHOOSE ON YOUR OWN WHETHER OR NOT YOU WANT TO RECEIVE ANY SPECIAL OFFERS BY EMAIL FROM THAT PIZZA PARLOR. ADCALLS HAS A STRICT SPAM POLICY--IF YOU SAY NO TO AN ADVERTISER YOU CLICKED ON. HE IS NOT ALLOWED TO EMAIL YOU ANYMORE UNLESS YOU CLICK HIS AD AGAIN. ADCALLS IS CREATING A "CLIQUE" OF SPECIAL CUSTOMERS WHO GET TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF LOCAL VENDORS' COUPONS AND SAVINGS. IF YOU DON'T HAVE ADCALLS, YOU WON'T SAVE MONEY ON PHONE CHARGES OR AT THE LOCAL RETAILERS!

When voip first started back in the late 90's all types of companies were offering free calls via the internet. You can check www.maximumbass.co.nr

I have been doing some investigating about the concept after speaking to an agency owner myself. Is there anyone out there who is actually selling Adcalls in the midwest and what are your thoughts?

I am in the Midwest the Dialer works fine. we just tested in in China which will be openning up for free calls early in 2007. The reception is better than a cell phone with no problems. Soon it will be the only completly free way to call around the world. I hear skype is going to start charging in 07. So Adcalls will be the only one completely free. If you have any questions or interests you can email me or give me a call.

Adcalls is growing so fast they are now going to Pay Anyone who gives it out to others for free. They have the mos lucrative business model I have ever seen in advertising. Goto www.businesstalk360.com to see how they can afford to give away free longdistance. If you have any questions or interests you can email me or give me a call.

Consumer Based Businesses benefit greatly as Advertisers or Private Label Parters with Adcalls. Consumers can save hundreds per year using the free calls and free coupons savings at their local merchants. In fact Adcalls just came out with a new State of the Art Dialer. See the new dialer by installing from this site.

ok this all is great but 2 things, one i don't see anywhere where it says my personal number so that someone can call me from a land line and second after you place a certain amount of calls im not sure off the top of my head but, you get a nice count down timer, ummm whats with that??? let me know what you all think. ^_^

It stopped working in the middle of September. After I contacted customer support, I was directed to beyondphone.com which works but does not give free PC to phone, only a $1.20 credit to start with. The beyondphone person said that adcalls is no longer offering free PC to phone. Can anyone recommend a real free PC to phone service now???
